i still don't understand why people compare the new c7 rear end to look like the camaro. i mean, the camaro resembled the corvette rear end, with the taillights. so people are saying the corvette taillights look like the camaro, which looks like the corvette?

The new corvette looks more like the Camaro than the Camaro looks like the old vette..

They're four element taillights. GM Design themselves stated the intent was to emulate Corvette's quad taillights.

Besides, round taillights are quickly falling out of favor with today's design trends.

Round tail lights are what set out the Corvettes IMO.

And they don't fit the overall theme of the car. The C7 is very angular with sharp creases and body lines.

It would be like Cadillac slapping circles on the back of an XTS. Everyone would do a collective "WTF" when they reached the rear end. It just doesn't fit the design.

the new c7 looks to have 6 sides on the outter lights and 5 sides on the inner lights. so it's not square/recangular either. Since we are nitpicking. lol. it's a fact that the insperation of the camaro taillights are from the corvette.
so for both cars to be similar, is only natural. unless they wanted to go 180degrees the other direction.

also, the lights themselves, on the camaro, are oval on the bottom...or a half circle.

GM Design said in interviews they knew the taillights were going to be controversial but it was a much-needed change. The overwhelming goal was to create a completely new Corvette.
