At what point do you need different plugs?
So I see a several posts about NGK plugs and other brands and wondering what the benefit is over stock plugs and at what point in your mods do you need to swap the plugs. I can see it necessary for SCs and radical builds, but at what point do these come into play?

NEVER. The stock plugs work just fine for well over 600whp.

At the moment that the ads that one is bombarded with every time you open the paper/magazine or tv ad , that's the time you need to get them , in another words IT IS IN EVERY ONES HEAD , if it is not broken do not fix it !

That's not entirely true. There are two independently tested CAI's that have just about hit that. One is the CAI and the other is the Halltech Yellowjacket. Both hit the 13-14whp mark on their own. Add the ADM scoop to those and they gain even more than 15whp.

I have the CAI Inc intake, and I have Dyno sheets to show otherwise. More like 4RWHP. So unless you can provide before and after dyno sheets, I stand by my statement.

I believe I have seen just such a sheet on this forum someplace... Also, unless you installed the CAI at the dyno shop right after your 'before' run there is no way to know if you got a truly comparable run on each end.

At C5F I ran the quarter all day bone stock. Ran 13.5-13.7 consistently. Added CAI and immediately ran 13.2. Don't think ~5hp is going to do that.

Sorry to highjack thread...to the plugs...several builders/tuners on here showing stock A/C Delco doing well up to 800hp; even on some FI mods. Some have gone to stock ZR-1 plug for FI builds with success (up to 1,000hp). Guess colder plugs aren't critical, even on FI builds, unless its run that under stress/load for endurance. At the track or around town; not critical.
