The same engine will go into the gen 6 Camaro.

My take on the pushrods is that even with a smaller displacement, a dohc V8 engine simply wouldn't fit under a low Corvette hood.
they should step it up and move the engine to the rear.

Also, that sounds like an excellent engine candidate to go up againt the lil 5.0

427?? what's this 427 talk?? since when is the LS7 a 427?? The LS7 is a 428 (427.8) ci engine. I don't think GM would really build an LS7 with a smaller bore or stroke just to lose the 1 ci. necessary to get back down to 427 ci.

OR if Chevy got crazy and made a 100k Camaro with the Corvette ZR1 type specs, 600+ HP different body etc.
Let's see. Ford has:

Mustang 305hp V6
Mustang GT 412 hp
Boss 302 460hp I believe
GT 500 550hp

Thats why it makes sense.

I can see a Z28 fighting Ford's Boss 302, but I'm not convinced that the LS7 will power it.

Z28 is dead the ZL1 was just anounced i'm sure Chevy isn't goinna confuse everyone with all these trims. The mustang has been around in it's current form for around 10 years ... the Maro came out last year there not goinna have 300 trims to make people that can't afford a ZL1 happy sorry it's never coming out on the current platform. Gas is going back up to 4.00 I don't think Chevy is goinna compete with the ZL1 sorry. The BOSS302 is a limited edition and already pretty much sold out (1 per dealer). So all of you z28 guys better keep and keep waiting lmao it's never coming peroid.

Are we really going to argue semantics? It's marketed a 427... Should I raise Heck because the 5.0 is really a 4.9?... Sheesh.

7.0l(LS7) = 427.166209 cubic inches

and just for calling our chevy. the Boss 302 should be called the boss 305.
5.0l(coyote/boss) = 305.11872 cubic inches

i rest my case.

4.125 bore x 4.00 stroke= 427.8ci = 428 which is a typical Ford size.

Isn't 302 ci 4.9 liter? That's the displacement I heard from a Ford rep' when talking about the Coyote. What's the difference? What - GM is wrong because they don't round down? It's not like Ford can add any better...

That would be crazy good. Too sweet for my brain to accept right now.

The 5.0 Coyote is 4951cc's, which rounds up to 5.0. But honestly, does anyone even care? A lot of hostility around here lately, I think it's the wintertime blues.
