water injection without the meth
Here in California, it is not as easy to get Methonal as it is in other parts of the country, so I am wondering about using the Coolingmist system spraying only water. Is there a noticeable difference on a FI engine spraying only water? Trying to figure out if it is worth installing and never using Meth. I know I can mail order boost juice and all, but since I can't just run to the auto store and even get Windshield washer fluid with Methonal, I'd rather just run straight water.
So, what gains and/or advantages are there to running a coolingmist kit on a FI engine, but only spray water is the question. thanks Dean

Why don't you think it will work? I know I won't get the octane boost of the methane, but I should still be able to lower the IAT, correct? Not being argumentative, just looking to get better understanding.
thanks Dean

Washer fluid with Methonal in it is not available in California. Our fearless leaders determined it was too dangerous to handle. I don't want to have to rely on mail order, i.e. boost juice, in case I unexpectantly run out.

Plenty of places to get meth here man. Any speed shop will have it. About $33 for a 5 gallon drum. I get mine from gotelli's in S. SF. Pick you up two 5 gallon drums and you will be set for over a year. I just finished up my first drum and it lasted me 8 months.

I would call your local speed shops. Try http://goodies-speedshop.com/ They seem to be closer to you. If they dont carry it I imagine they know the local guys that do since they deal with race cars. Or if you want I could pick you up a drum when im in there on Friday. Not sure if that saves you much traveling, I live in Half Moon Bay and work in Foster City. You wont go through it quick though, All you gotta do is pick up a couple of drums once a year.

This is a good read on using straight water or 50/50 mix. Dean
