Transmission Cooler

Alright guys - any advise on a transmission cooler? I'd prefer one with it's own fan.

Can't go wrong with B&M, Flex-a-lite, Permacool or TCI.

Here's a nice B&M fan cooled unit I found on summit. #70297 for $203.75
Just keep in mind you already have an auxilary cooler so you will have to decide wether or not to keep it or run them all in series.

N prob.

Free info of the day- Fluid goes through the radiator to the aux cooler and then exits on the passenger side on route back to the trans. This is where you would want to tie in if you end up running them i series. Although I admitt Ive never seen 3 coolers stacked before.

Interesting concept, I guess the other adventure is figuring out where to put it

Yep. But idealy it would mount on the radiator and provide the final cooling before returning to the trans.

also the camaro does not come with an aux cooler,, just the 1 cooler in the bottom of the radiator, the other cooler is the power steering cooler

How sure are you? I list an auxilary trans cooler for the V8 autos but no power steering coolers for any model.

im positive, i had the complete engine and radiator out of my car,, the 2 trans lines went straight to the lower radiator,,

the cooler in the bottom of the a/c condenser is the p/s cooler, lines from the rack to the pump

i know the gm service manual even says the cooler in the bottom of the a/c condenser is the aux trans cooler,, but gm must have changed their mind on this after the service manual was written

i even went out to look at my car again,, the cooler that is part of the a/c condenser is the power steering fluid cooler, one line from the pump and one from the rack

the L99's do not come with an aux transmission cooler even thought he service manual says they do.

Hmmmm....very interesting. But believable coming from GM. Now lets hope they fix the catalog before I have a customer in need of a p/s cooler. And don't take my previous question as rude, I have the utmost respect for you. Just thought all these winter weeks without your monster Camaro might be taking a toll on your memory. Thanks for clearing that up.
