3.55 are the only option available for the stock rear end I believe. You could swap for a ss rear end and your options really open up. What are the stock 0-60 times on these cars?

3.55 richmond runs about 550, and labor depends on if you pull it and take it in or have them pull it and do it. Depends on who does it but 300-400 if you take he pumpkin in to the garage, probibly double that if you drive it in and have them do it all. SS rend swap opens up all the options ,but costs a lot more.

New gears are about $450. Expect at least that, if not more, in labor. Or do what I did and buy a complete rear end and just swap that out on your own. I went with 3.91's as I was planning on staying NA. Ended up going FI, and now want to go back to 3.27 or 3.45's. Now, you being a 2LS...you will need a rear end, axles, hubs, and drive shaft.

Yes. Because you have the 2LS you would need everything. The 2LS has an entirely different carrier, axles, Hubs, etc

The 3:55 is the only option for the 2ls. I was checking into the SS swap for my auto LT and depending on options, it was running about 2,000.00 bucks. But with the SS transplant you also get positraction as the SS rear end is a limited slip differential and the automatic differential in the 2ls is an open diff that is only one wheel drive.

Does the ss rear end (hubs, axels, and all) fit fine in the 2LS? Are there any other extensive modifications needed?

When you swap into a SS rear end to change the gear ratio, you want to change at least to the to the 3:45, otherwise you won't feel much difference. The standard ratios on the SS are 3.27' 3.45, and 3.91. 3.91 will give you the greatest improvement in acceleration and mechanical torque improvement and lowering your et's in all areas. It will also lower your gas mileage.

Jacfab makes an intake spacer that I felt made a huge difference. Easy install too.
