Trouble with Rear Illuminated Bowtie by AAC

Anyone else had any trouble with there rear bowtie?? We have never drove or car in the rain!! Had it 14 months now and it never seen the rain. Every time, since install of our bowtie, we wash our car, half of it grounds out and does not work. A day or two later, shu-zam....it's back to all good!! Working great. Today washed car and only 1/4 of it comes on. Does'nt make me happy!!!! At all!!!

some wires are probably not sealed properly. I had this problem with my first scanner bar. Have you checked the wiring for nicks and what not?

had mine 3 months ,no problems. Ditto on the wiring part. If it's from washing though it's likely the housing, the majority of the wiring on that is back inside the car. Do you see any water pooling in the bottom of the acrylic?

Call AAC, they have a great warranty (which I'm currently dealing with.... ). Make sure if they get you taken care of to mention it here. If not let us know!

Very easy to solve ,get some exterior grade transparent or clear silicone and apply it between the chrome part and the LED plastic part ,if there is a hole getting water in it will be sealed and your bow tie will be 100 % again even when it's raining.

Yes the small holes on top and bottom is more likly where the water is getting in.(center area of bow-tie) Should'nt of AAC have done something about this before sending out this product? i think so!! With the few amount of times we have washed this car, I can't imagine one that is drove ever day and see's rain and the elements. Unless, I have just got a bad apple out of the bunch! As far as fixing the problem, yes I can fix it, but this something that no one should have to deal with. For the price of these things. And the reputaion of AAC!!!

I will have to say that its been two days since we washed the car. And still only about 1/4 of the bow-tie is burning. We may have a bigger problem here HOUSTON!!! It may have shorted out this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!Not Good!!!
