Do a search on all the v6 to v8 upgrade posts and then you decide.

With the same driving habits as my L99, my 5.0 averages 1 point lower than my brother's V6 stang. If the OP is a performance enthusiast, Id definitely recommend passing on the V6 and getting the V8, preferably the LS3! If I were to do it all over again I would have gotten the 1LE. My L99 is nice and comfortable but a bit of a pig. My wife drives it most of the time and I ususally drive the Stang.

Alright dude I'm going to be flat out blunt.
There is no way we can tell you whether or not the V6 or V8 would be the best purchase for you. We can advise you based on the information you give us and your lifestyle. Ultimately you're buying the car and need to be 100% content with it before doing so. There is no "best" Camaro. There are countless people here who can afford V8s and got V6s because they wanted one. There are people here who purchased V6s and traded in later because they wanted a V8. There are people who jumped from V6 to ZL1 and SS to 1LE and even SS to V6. It depends on what made them happy. Both cars are powerful, the V8 is obviously more so, if you know you're desiring a V8 then get the V8. If you desire it but it isn't financially feasible then wait, save, and purchase it when your situation improves. As you stated you have a vehicle already. The benefit of the doubt is in place here because I assume you want to be well informed on your decision, which is good. Ultimately though, it's time to take said information and analyze your wants/needs with it. A variety of things from travel, commute, gas budget, insurance budget, note budget etc. etc. will come into play. Now that said, my personal opinion is this is a Camaro. You don't settle with a car like a Camaro. Get the V8 if you really want the V8 and can afford it. |

Well thanks to all of you guys for your input. I will factor all costs and sit on it for a while until I've made a true decision.
