What to get first?
My car should be in first of next week according to invoice. Probably later though.
However for the time being I have no garage with my house. I do plan on getting something for it before next winter. I was wondering what would be more important short term, car cover, the car care kit that gm offers, or if there is something else you guys would recommend. I want to do as much as I can now to protect it from the elements. |

I had a nice car cover once, and they just seem to collect dirt and spread it and scratch your car.

Keep it waxed properly and that will protect it.

Rock guards... I've had my car 1 month and the "gills" are already pitted...

Sounds like a good wax to me, but he did say that if anything happens to the paint or leather while your using it they will fix it free of charge. Of course this is not a rock repellent so I would still need a clear bra or something a long those lines but that's well over a grand. |

You should check out the 5th Gen Camaros of Carolinas. It's a car club for 5th gens only and we have events all over.

I would take a pass. Unless the car is properly paint corrected before they apply their magic to the car, you will always see the tiny micro scratches in the paint under their special car care coating.
You can buy the Nano coatings and apply yourself saving about $400. Aquartz, Opticoat etc.... do the job. You would have to correct the paint first, then apply the Opti or Aquartz. |

Catch can. Keep the gunk out of your intake tract from day one. One of the easiest DIYs. I'm kinda partial to these guys:
http://www.revxtreme.com/rx-catch-ca...le-check-valve Plus, for no extra charge, they will custom paint it to match your GM body paint! I got mine done in Summit White so they will really stand out under the hood. Pics in my journal thread below. Read Tracy's Tech Tips if you haven't already.

Best practice for cars that are kept outside is keep it clean and protected...wax, UV protectant for vinyl, etc. I had my Yukon outside for 10 yrs - paint looked brand new when I sold it. I've always been a stickler for keeping my vehicles clean.

I would definetly get splash guards put on. These tires are sticky, and pick up road debris and fling it.
