fuse pull

Finally did exhaust fuse pull, took for quick spin noticed car feels little smoother on acceleration, time will tell if I keep fuse out!

As I am hoping to be picking my 1le with npp up this weekend, the first thing I want to do is pull the fuse for the exhaust. Did u guys find a video to show you where everything was ? Or just stumble your way around till you found it ?

I have two completely types of observations concerning the exhaust fuse pull.

With stock manifold and NPP exhaust, the fuse pull made it sound more sporting at best during partial throttle acceleration, but nothing to really brag about. Ditto on the burbling and popping sound on decel. That said, the difference was subtle enough for me, to recommend this as a permanent mod with no mild to wild switch at all.

Moving now on to my Stainless Power headers, with off road pipes. Fuse pull was a WOW WOW affair, unlike before in the first paragraph. Had to see/hear it to believe it. Partial throttle acceleration is a beast with the fuse pull and headers with off road pipes, ditto on popping decel. I then decided it may be too loud/aggressive, so I reinstalled the fuse. Sure enough, now it's too quiet, lol. With this setup, I may need the mild to wild switch.

Conclusion: Fuse pull not that much contrast with stock manifold and cats in place with NPP. Fuse pull offers a very civilized "sport sound" that will not get you in trouble, and probably not even turn any heads, lol. Fuse pull with my stainless power headers and no cats is a much more black and white affair, a heavy foot at partial throttle, and everyone is looking. Fuse back in, and it's hardly anything more at partial throttle than stock manifold with cats. Those NPP flaps make a HUGE difference when the exhaust has been opened up with headers and no cats!

I seem to set off "chirp" more alarms with the fuse pulled and I too notice a "slight" difference in part throttle accel with it out. But it might just be the heavier right foot mod kicking in. :-)

I did the rocker switch mod this weekend on the NPP fuse...I must admit it makes life much easier...I love the way it sounds without the fuse but locally it raises some unwanted attention...plus on longer fwy drives it is a good thing to have to reduce cabin noise...

Being able to toggle between them is extremely nice...especially with the few mods I have done...

Does the toggle switch let you close the flaps on shut down and start up without any battery drain?

There will be no battery drain with a toggle switch with the car off.

The toggle just bypasses the power fuse to the flaps but the flaps only close when the ground connection to the flaps is made in the car computer. With the fuse pull, the circuit is never completed. Car on or off no power drain.

Bought a wireless remote box with 2 key fobs and a fuse bypass on Amazon and put in my own mild to wild switch for $20. Took about 5 minutes. Way easier and faster than running wires through the car to put in a manual switch.
