Suggestion for New Engine?
Ok, so I drove from Louisiana to Oshawa for the homecoming event and factory tour. However on the way back down, the engine started making really bad clattering noises in Tennessee. (I U-hauled her the rest of the way.)
Now I've heard some bad theories about what could be going on, so I'm preparing for the worst... I may need a whole new engine. First off, I'd kinda like some suggestions, but right now I'm thinking LSA. I know there's a few shops that have done engine swaps, but I couldn't find them in the forum, so links please if you know where they are. I saw some arguement about LS3 with supercharger vs LSA, and they also mentioned something about forged internals, but that was over my head... at least untill I get back on my A.D.D. perscription and feel like reading. I know I want 550RWHP, but I also want to put a cam in it to give it that sound. Anyway, any suggestions, links, and prices would be helpful. Thanks.

You may want to find out what forging is all about before you cost yourself another engine.

I'm not getting this whole thing. New engine without a powertrain warranty? Did you have mods that voided the original warranty? You want to put down 550hp to the wheels but don't know squat about beefing up the internals? Sounds like you might be doing this again in about 6 months.

His garage says he has cam, supercharger and tune, would like to know what failed.
Was down in Baton Rouge last month and didn't see a single Camaro on the road, only saw about 3 on drive down, where are they hiding? in U-Haul trailers? |

I have 546/rwhp with an E-Force at 6 PSI. Other mods in sig. I went to Oshawa and didn't have any problems.
