Do I have this math right?
4.10s compared to 3.45s is 16% tighter. Since gears are the muliplier to the power that goes to the ground this should follow that tq increases 16%.
So this would bring my low end tq at 3,000rpms from 410TQ to 476TQ And the top end HP from 610HP to 708HP Max TQ from 538TQ to 624TQ Does this math work out? will the acceleration G-Force increase be the same as I increased power like that? I will measure on Kat Matrix accleration G-Force in second gear now then after gears and see what the increase is.

math does that.. but comes in handy I used it to measure what my HP would be with 2" over 1 7/8" headers going by the % difference someone got by installing 2" headers on stock engine.

You won't show additional torque on the dyno but you will realize an improvement equivalent to those numbers in acceleration. |

You'll probly lose power on the dyno but the car will pull harder.

Yea I know it doesn't show on dyno just wondering though will car be as fast as if it had that power. Going to matrix that shows acceleration G's that should show how hard its pulling
Also if holds true new trap speed should be about 128mph

Just take your skirt off and do it already. You'll be glad you did. You better do something or your dad is going to smoke you!

Going to a steeper gear lowers your trap mph, given all other variables stay the same.

Example. My dads camaro has a lot less power then mine but tighter gears and he trapped just 1mph less then me. So I am sure gears raise mph. I just dont know by how much. why would you assume trap would go down?

Think about it. When you change gears, you are not adding or taking away power. You are still putting down roughly the same power to the ground (actually, if you want to be technical you are going to be putting down a few horsepower LESS with the 4.10s, because you have more parastic drivetrain loss with them, compared to the 3.73's). Regardless, the only thing you are changing is how fast you get into your powerband..... the steeper gear you go, the faster you get in your powerband, the faster you complete the 1320'. So, for instance, it would take you 12.0 seconds to complete 1320 feet, and you would reach 118 mph. Well since you are going to be getting into your powerband faster, you will accellerate faster, but power will stay the same. So you will reach 30 mph faster, 60 mph faster, 90 mph faster, etc.

Just a note, he's got an LS3 not an L99, so the rear's would be 3.45's not 3.73's in your comparison

Just an additional note, neither the LS3 or the L99 come from the factory with 3.73 gears. I was just using the 3.73 gear set as an example.
