Appreciate your response.
I was equally concerned about protecting the value of my mods... So I contacted Hagerty which offered a set value coverage. I can tell you for $55k coverage, they wanted about $1,000 a year to insure AND really don't want you driving the car. That was 3x's what my normal insurance was with no mileage limitations... I know people with 1st Gens (worth more than mine) that only pay them a few hundred a year. They admitted to me that they HEAVILY surcharge the new cars to offer cheap rates to the old cars.

Just last year my insurance starting offering a rider for "excess custom equipment" so I got that to protect my mods. I feel they would treat the replacement value of the car a little differently knowing it is limited edition. Every insurance company is going to be a little different...

thanks for your response.....Hagerty was on my list of potential contacts....I'm going to sit down with my agent and see what they can offer........if they don't budge ...what I'm thinking is getting an independent appraisal with with at least three value quotes from local car dealers with their value assessments....if favorable...present that to my agent... will see what happens...

I've owned a few collectors cars, my last two being Camaros. USAA, at least, does not value these cars as a "normal" Camaro. I can attest that they actually put forth the effort and spend the time to value the car based on a Collector's price. Of course, they must have attestation as to the condition of the vehicle prior to its demise. In the case of my 2002 Camaro SS Le (#1242), I sustained nearly $10K in damage from being hit center mass on the passenger side by a vehicle moving around 45mph while I was sitting still. The car was completely repaired with new parts and warranted for an additional 3 years on the parts and installation by my dealer. When I traded the car in for the Pace two years later, she had 85K miles on her and I received a $25K trade in. This was from the same dealer that repaired the car. I suppose "your mileage may vary" depending upon your insurance dealer....

All..

I'm working with Chris now. He has five shirts remaining, all large. I told him that I'd like to point some actual Pace Car owners in his direction for those. These don't come up often (1st time in three years) and it will likely be a long time, if ever, that they are available again.

If he agrees to what I've proposed, I'll send his contact info to the first five that want shirts. They will go for between $17.50 - $20. Can't tie a price down, but the eBay prices ran $16.50-$17.50. I'm working on a guaranteed purchase for PC owners, so the price may be the same, or a bit more.

More to follow as soon as I receive an email.

Michael

(To be fair, one per unless we don't have five, then....)

OMG, just ran across this T-shirt pic on ebay. I started searching and found this thread. I bought my PC in May just before they paced the race. I still only have 3900 miles. Please PM me any info. I will probably buy the large on ebay even though it is 2 sizes to small. Is the ebay seller the original guy?

Thanks

The post you quoted was a year old and I doubt you'll get an answer here. Ebay is the place since they can't really sell them on Camaro 5 without a sponsorship.

You bet we follow it. But with only 249 cars out there it's a little slow.

Post up the VIN and we will add it to the list.
