Do you trust BestBuy with your Camaro?
I want subs + amp when I get my Camaro. I just had them instal Sirius in my Blazer and they seem like a group of knuckleheads. I highly doubt I can trust these guys with my new m6 SS.
Any thoughts?

i wouldn't
I worked there before. if you do decide to take it there.... do a quick drive around the parking lot and make notes on where any burnout marks are... and see how many new ones appear when you go to pick up your car

They wouldn't touch any car of mine....If I didnt know how to install anything they have myself, I would Only go to a reputable shop that you have seen work from before. Car electrical work isnt rocket science but I have witnessed a car fully engulfed in flames being put out by the fire department while it was sitting right in front of a "fly by night" car stereo installer's shop in the next town. As I rode by, My first thought was.....The Fuse goes in the battery cable FIRST

Hell no! Go to a high end custom car audio shop and ask to see their work. Get references and check them. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to BB.

Buy the ******** harness from Steve and take it to a high end installer if your not comfortable doing it yourself. This eleminates any wire splicing and makes the install easy. In an out in less then 30 minutes depending on the box you use.

I got my Radar hard wired on best buy.
It was not a big job that I had to leave the car tho. And I was there the whole time. |

My local Best Buy just hard-wired my Passport 9500IX in my Camaro. They did a great job! They've done other installs for me over the years and I've had nothing but good expiriences. I'd let them work on anything of mine.
Side note: The Sarasota installers are brothers [Eric and Mark, I think are there names] and have a VERY good local rep. They've got many photos of some very high dollar cars and boats they've worked on. |

I'm sure it depends on the store and who's working but generally I'd avoid it.

Ensure that whoever you have do your install has insurance, licensed and bonded. BestBuy has all of the above. I'm not sure how well trained their install tech's are, but you run that risk no matter where you go.
If you are just adding a sub, like txrhino said, get the ******** harness and go from there. That keeps the guys @ Best Buy from having to google search your wiring diagrams.
