The clutches are stinky in these cars.

If you don't have a separate issue, the smell does go away over time. Mine did this for the first 2k miles or so and then went away, never to return.

I would be at a red light rev the engine up high and smell some kind of burning engine oil smell. I noticed after installing a catch can I've never smelt it like that ever again. Maybe the can is catching that tiny bit of oil that was steaming up on high revs?? (shrug)

My clutch regularly smelled bad for the 1st 10k miles.
The scent is mostly gone now at 17k miles. I've owned a number of manual transmission vehicles and this is the first that gives off clutch material burning smell in everyday driving conditions. |

Same here at 20k miles. Although I notice the smell it doesn't bother as much anymore. Guess you just get used to it. Now if I could keep the wife from complaining about it.

My clutch also gave off the smell for the first 800 - 1000 miles or so. Haven't smelled it since.
