Depends on the pump you use, and how much vac. it can actually pull.
This is one of the beauties about dry sump oil systems is that they will combine a killer oil setup with one hell of a vac. pump to boot. You may have to play with a relief valve to make sure it does not make to much vac. and damage a seal or pull to much oil so do keep that in mind, most can not be left to run on their own. A good vac. pump can help ring seal, oil control, crank case pressure, and yes even help produce a bit more HP because it removes a lot of the windage pressure on the bottom side of the pistons. |

Can't say I've run them on my personal engines, but we sure do have a nice big one here at work for these dresser recips! haha. Like someone else said, you have to watch how much vacuum they pull, because they can pull oil out of the crankcase.

I've got one. If you get the pulley size right and use relief valves then you shouldn't have a problem. They do take up some space.
I have two valves to control vacuum. The big aluminum up front does the bulk of the adjustment. The small brass one on the valve cover let's me fine tune it. The pump is the black thing just below the aluminum knob/valve to the right of the catch can.

Thank you for the update and pictures. I will probably go with GZ motorsports and maybe shoot for around 10 pounds. They seem to have a good handle on this.
