1 year anniversary and 1st wax

Just applied the first wax and waiting for it to dry. The car has never seen rain and it has 3800 miles driven on beautiful days. She is a lot like my wife, looking better then ever

You've had the car for a year and this is the first time you have waxed it?

Yeah it's past due but it has stayed super clean all year long since I got it.

Still though. I mean don't get me wrong I am very glad/happy for you that you are waxing her. But I just hate to think of the damage that might have been done to your paint in that year. Even if the days were gorgeous.

Damage? I hope not, I guess I better wax it more often. I have been using Meguiar's Ultimate wash and wax stuff when washing the car every time and the car has been kept in the garage.

OK, when I say damage I don't mean like someone keying your car or something. I'm talking about swirls/hazing/micro scratches/etc

I had a coat of wax on mine before the odometer broke 300 miles. ...Just long enough for it to be dirtied up enough to need a thorough de-bugging prior.

You should clay bar before any wax. Gets all of the fine particles that washing cannot get off. You will be amazed at how smooth it feels!!

Yes.

I do it once a season, winter excluded.

Has nothing to do with miles. Has to do with how many times it's washed/where it's stored/etc.

Wax provides a crucial layer of protection from swirls and micro scratches that can be obtained by brushing the car as you walk by, washing/drying, wiping off dust, etc.

When the water stops beading up really nicely on the paint, it's time for more wax.
