Unhappy dissapointed in the stereo

i thought it might sound better with all the speakers, but it doesn't.

At one point i put a nice system in my truck using fosgate amps and fanatic q's.
it sounded amazingly clear at high volumes. how much work is it to integrate a nicer sound system in? i don't want just bass, i want sound reproduction with 0% THD. I installed the system in my truck myself but this is a whole new ballgame with the car. any links or people who have done this?

If you are referring to the Boston Accustics stereo, I agree. I think it is a complete fail on a 36K car.:(

Glad I didn't waste my money then. I've heard good things in other threads about the JL Audio Cleansweep system - may be worth looking into.

The Boston Accustics system is my only real complaint on my 2SS, it is a crappy systemin my opinion. Hard to believe they consider it top of the line.

I will replace it down the line with a real stereo system.

let me just say I have heard a LOT of factory stereos, and excluding the ones in the super ultra luxury high end cars none of them came even close to an aftermarket system. If you get into any affordable factory car and expect the stereo to ever sound like your aftermarket system you are fooling yourself. The only afordable ones that come close are the Kicker Systems that Dodge offers because they essentially are aftermarket components.

The BA system is actually very good for a regular car in this price range. Its clear and doesn't distort very easily and has a little bass thump. Its good enough, and better than a standard 4 speaker system.

If you are comparing it to an Aftermarket system you ever had or something like the Mark Levinson sound system in a Lexus you will be sadly dissapointed. For example that system is part of a $4,000 package that includes Navigation.

Dont let this keep you from looking at BA for your upgraded system, they have some great after market stuff.

The system in my 1984 Z-28 H. O. had far better sound quality than my 2010 SS.

Just sayin'.

I think so too... To make things worse... They've pretty much integrated everything into that head unit making. The way the unit sits in the dash with the knobs underneath it makes it virtually impossible to swap it out or create a car kit for it.

Man, I thought I was the only one who thought the audio system wasn't that great! I only listened to it for about 5 min in a dealer's lot. But so many people said that it was awesome, so I thought I must've just missed the equalizer sweet spot! It's better than average, but people hyped it up a lot on here and I was wondering what was so awesome about it.

dont pay much attention to these kind of posts , if the first post said he loved it you would have 20 posts agreeing , if the first post hates it it the opposite . I think it sounds really nice
