Elite Engineering USA Catch Can Install

Nothing like a Saturday afternoon for a little project.

So here is my new catch can and all the installation parts, well maybe not all of them...

I had to add this to the mix.

Here is the can with the nipples installed

I put some teflon tape on the AN fitting to minimize marring when tightening them.

This is the bolt the instructions tell you to attach the "L" bracket to, but I couldn't use it. It's not that I can't follow directions, but the AN fittings take up a little more space.

This was to close for me, so the hunt was on to find another location. I had that catch can and "L" brackett everywhich way but loose before I decided on using the bolt that fastens the ground cable to the head.

With the new location, I had to swap a 90 for a straight fitting and the plumbing began.

Wrap the hose tightly with tape, mark it and use a thin cut off wheel to cut it.

After the cut remove the tape. At this point it is a good idea to wear some gloves or the wire on the hose will get you.

I didnt have AN wrenches, so I used masking tape on the wrenches. I had to change it half way through the first fitting just to be safe as it was wearing out. The tape on the braided hose is there so you can see if the hose is staying in place or walking out. A little lube on the fitting that goes inside the hose helps quite a bit.

Here is a finished hose.

Finished.

This is really a simple install, until you start doing things your own way and changing hoses and fittings. But what fun is that. I think I am becoming a braided hose junkie and I like the AN fittings too.

Paul, very nice job! Like the tip on how you used the tape to protect the fittings. I'll be implementing it this coming week. Great write up and thanks for sharing.

Hey man couple questions for ya if ya don't mind....
First one... When I pulled the factory breather hose of in the back i noticed around the bottom of that connection there was a little oil or maybe gas ..... is that normal??
Second question......at the other end of that hose where you take the other part of that line off is it necessary to take the throotle body off cause I can not seem to get to it ???
