I don't have the big my link screen. I have the navigation screen in the infotainment section in the center console.

So you don't have navigation, you only have Onstar turn by turn. Navigation is an actual option that is purchased ($795) for mylink.

Ok, so why does it have the Navigation screen on the infot in the center console? Is that where the turn by turn goes?

Yes - that's where the Turn by Turn will display

What you have in the DIC is only turn by turn, this is the navigation option:

Absolutely right. The turn by turn in the DIC is what, just voice directions or does something show up in the DIC screen.

You'll get some arrows with distance on the DIC and I believe on the radio (although don't quote me on the radio).

Ok, maybe voice from the radio via bluetooth?

What I want to know is how you got that angled view - mine only does bird's eye.

Switch to 3d view (I think that's what it's called). I'll look when I get home if you can't find it.

Hard to believe to call it "old school" but I have a Garmin GPS that plugs into the lighter or "aux pwr outlet" or whatever they call them these days.

I don't need GPS very often and just keep it in the mid console, but it works very well and that is that. If I go to a place more than twice, I now try to learn how to go there by myself, i.e., remembering, ha. It is like phone numbers, the numbers you call are in your phone and if you lose your phone, you can't remember the numbers. Meanwhile, I still remember my best friend in 6th grade's phone number but he ain't there no more, even the house is gone!

When in navigation press the "menu/select" button in the right knob, then select heading indicator:

Then select 3D heading up:
