I think you can use any soap but there are better ones that will give that thick foam like this one http://www.amazon.com/Maxi-Suds-SUPE...2&sr=8-1-fkmr0

or this one http://www.autogeek.net/foam-gun-soap.html

I use Adams soap, the great thing about the one I have is it does NOT go through the soap really fast. I don't have any photos of it and right now it is too cold to wash my car.

How would you compare it to the foam in the video in the OP?

I think I may get this http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...&storeId=10051

because this guy's video shows him using it and it seems pretty good

I can fill my canister up and wash my car probably 10 times before I would have to refill it. It comes down to cost and do you have the money to buy that one. I am not rich so I got what I have and I am happy with it.

Foam guns work well with garden hoses. if you have a pressure washer you want a foam lance. Those are far better. Most people use the foam guns because they don't have / don't use a pressure washer.

I was just looking at the link on Stieger's post. I think I'm sold on the Ultimate Wash and Dry kit.

I use the one from Home Depot and it works great. Plenty of foam.

I've tried using a combo of meguiars ultimate wash and wax soap and water in the foamer bottle but I'm not getting the results I want.

I want my car to look like this:

I'm looking into buying this for soap instead: http://www.amazon.com/Maxi-Suds-SUPE...2&sr=8-1-fkmr0

Do you think that will make the difference I want?

You will only get that type of action with a setup like he had. The Adams foam gun or any foam gun for that matter will not even approach a thick and sticky mixture like that (that's what she said).

Is that how you're supposed to do it? I always put a couple ounces of Adam's soap in my Adam's foam gun and rinse it out when I'm done.

Your method does make more sense though.

This is what the guy in the video uses. http://www.amazon.com/Professional-F...9697476&sr=8-1
It is the same thing that AG sells for $120. It just doesn't have their logo on it. It will be your best source of foam out of all of the available foamers.

+1, too much pressure for foam. Not really designed to foam with more than 50PSI.

I was going to get it but then I realized there are minimum requirements for that... which I don't have

Minimum requirements are 1500 PSI and 2 GPM. I have 1600 PSI and 1.5 GPM...

My guess is it'll still work just fine. Usually when you're not far off it'll work with ease. If not, you can always get your money back.
