New 4L80E Transmission Installed

Got my new 4L80E installed. It's a manumatic transmission that gives me the fun of shifting, without the stress of the clutch in traffic. The shift is also instantaneous so I can stay in boost the entire time. Here's a quick video of how it works.

It has a Circle D multi disk torque converter (3800 stall), one piece driveshaft and a B&M ratchet shifter.

I didn't know you upped the stall to 3800... Why was that? How's the gas mileage now?

I'd say I'm getting at least 10-12 mph.

I'm really not sure...I'm bad about watching it. I'll see if I can remember to test it the next time I fill up.

Looks like a serious "fun factor" improvement

You're taking it out of context. He had mentioned his gas mileage prior to this mod. He just wants to see a comparison with the new tranny.

Like that, very sweet set up. My 98 SS I put a TH350 in it with T-brake. Was well worth it to handle the power and not have to worry about the tranny anymore.

Wonder what would the cost on this be ??? or ballpark ???

I agree. I knew I'd need it once the 427 went in, so I decided to go ahead and do it now.

The SFAM (super fast arm module) is optional, and is a VERY expensive upgrade.

I think it was only one person who asked... and it was directed at 3200 vs 3800 stall. Since the tranny and converter were the only things swapped this time around. Has nothing to do w/ fun factor...

Send me a PM, and I can put you in touch with my builder. I know he can put one together and ship it to you.
