What is the first year for Camaro with a sunroof?

Calling on my fellow Camaro enthusiasts. Having a conversation with a co-worker and he claims they offered a sunroof on the third generation. Is this true? I'm referring to a factory sunroof option. If I had to guess I'd say the 5th generation was the first to offer a sunroof as I'm only familiar with ragtops / T-tops in the previous generations.

Thanks in advance

5th gen was the only version to offer a Sunroof. Any 3rd gen that has one was done aftermarket. Them and 4th gens (and 2nd gens as well) had T-tops.

Correct t-tops and convertibles for 3rd Gen Camaro's only sunroof was never a factory option.

I had an '84 IROC HO with T-tops- I really like that option of pulling them off and going for a ride in the sun

Me too. The sunroof just isn't the same.

And everyone else is correct, no sunroof on third gen.

And leaving them on to let all that liquid sunshine drip in after a year or two.

I prefer a moonroof over the T-tops. It was always a hassle with the Ts because you have to get out the car and put them back on. And then sometimes the keys get lost, or the molding gets ripped, or you hear them clanging and scratching in the hatch. Moonroof is simple and easy. But regardless, there has to be some way of viewing the sky on those long night time cruises...

You'd think these days they could design a better T-Top system that was leak proof.

They did. The the 4th gens really didn't leak. Mine don't either, although the problem was more prevalent in the 2nd and 3rd gens.

The 4th gens also had a better storage system, that just had a place in the hatch where the T-tops would slide into. Less than 2 minutes to get them off and start driving.

You can get it-- but it costs about $6,500 for the conversion

Our 5th gens are modeled on the '69-- T-Tops weren't an option.
