The Jetstream blue is a tintcoat color, so it has a lot more depth to it. Way back before the no blue ss fiasco, some people (including me) were pushing for jsb as a choice for the camaro. I have only seen a colorado with aqua blue metallic, it is a darker color than jetstream blue, and it does have some green to it. It is a sharp color and it does look different depending on lighting. In the end, I would still take the jetstream blue, but abm is a great looking color too. When I order my car it is between abm and victory red-most likely abm.

ABM is darker than JSB... the green that is mixed in with it makes it that way... it actually looks pretty good on the Camaro... not so good on the HHR and Colorado

I'd still rather have IBM, RJT or IOM rather than ABM, though

Not sure that's quite true. There's a LOT of green in JSB, too. Instead, I think the base blue is quite a bit darker.

You know, after seeing some of these pics... i think i'm sold on the Polished Aluminum with the silver stripes. I like the way they pop just a bit more then the midnight silver.

If they had JSB I would have ordered mine months ago. Hell I've ordered CGM now and still going back and forth between several colors cause none are "perfect" for me imho.

Do not order ABM thinking it will be just like JSB, it is not. ABM has a lot of different characters, you could see it in 2 different situations and almost think it was a different color. ABM is by far best (imho) in a nice bright sunny day, but not when you're looking at the side that the sun is shining directly on. Under those circumstances the blue really shines and you get a beautiful color like this









However, move to the side with direct sunlight and out comes the lighter aqua color





Move to low / indirect light and it just becomes drab & dark & starts to blend in with everything else









Even if it's not that dark out it seems to quickly wash out. You can see the reflections clearly, it's cloudy but not a nasty day (look at the reflection), yet because it's not in direct lighting on an otherwise nice day it still gets dark & dull (even if it does have a nice mirror shine to it)



This is a VERY interesting comparison, because if you go to any Chevy dealer's color board they will have all of the colors right next to each other, and they're all curved to see the different lighting angles. On that board, the ABM is obviously quite darker than the JSB, but this goes to show you that ABM goes under a lot more change to that lighter aqua (green) hue when in direct sunlight, the JSB just gets a more brilliant blue.



Here are a couple of good examples of panels on a corvette with JSB that shows from light to dark, how JSB stays a much more consistent blue.






Obviously all of this is all personal preference, but the first time I saw ABM I said it made the HHR look toy-ish, later when I took my wife to see it on a different day the first thing she said that it looked cartoonish. Comparing them on the color board it's obvious the ABM is not as rich & brilliant of a color to start with, but under the right lighting it is absolutely brilliant. It's just MHO, and I've almost gone back to ABM several times (I love big flake in paint, so ABM & CGM were my first two choices), but they should have gone with JSB over ABM no question, and that goes for Atomic vs. Inferno Orange as well.

Apparently GM thinks the blue colors from the HHR & Colorado and the orange from the Avalanche better suit Camaro owners than the Corvette colors. Sorry, but again IMVHO, WTF were they thinking...

At least we got CGM

I think the way the color changes depending on the angle and lighting makes it interesting and unique. I'm really excited about it and can't wait. I myself have no desire for jetstream blue.

Which is why I keep coming back to it. I love the idea of it having several characters in the color, I just wish the other supporting characters had better (IMO) personalities.

Overall, it is still a good color, and I'm still considering it. I've ordered CGM as the safe route, it's still a beautiful color, easier to maintain than black, not as crayola as IOM, and while it may lack as many characters as ABM, all of it's characters have good personalities IMO.

However, that main character of ABM is one hell of a contender!!! And if the other guys want to come out & play every now and again, that's not such a bad thing.

I have a bunch of pics of the ABM LS with 21" rims from Epcot. The color really pops...I am just concerned that it looked better under the lights...than it would outside.

One thing is for sure , I do not believe any of the other Camaro color choices have generated near as much controversy or comment good and bad as this Aqua Metallic Blue........what's that tell ya ! Should be an eye popper ! stopper !! I cannot wait to see what the reactions will be to my 2SS ABM RS ! I went against the grain when I bought my last sportbike and went with a Plasma Blue Metallic which shows something close to this ABM but lighter and I tell you, nothing but positive comments, and when they were walking over to my bike in a group of bikes ......it was the color that attracted them.

I originally was going to order SIM which most of the promo pictured had that, I learned that Silver, Yellow, Red, and Black will be the most popular colors. I wanted something flashy but not too bright or dull. I think the ABM gives the best of both worlds.
