Bogarts are going to be well over $1,000 and personally I only think they would be worth it on a sub 12 second car, low 11s at the minimum.
Why not a light set of 18s with equally light all seasons? The 1LT stock rims only weigh 23 lbs and their CHEAP. Personally I just honestly wouldn't be slightly worried to run two spares on a 12.0 car and up. At the same time, there are cheap alternatives that I mentioned, that will give you similar results. |

I don't believe those wheels clear the brembos. If a spare tire is rates for 45/55 mph why would anyone take it to double that speed? |

Here are the speed ratings.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tire_code#Speed_rating My frontrunners are T135/70R18 104 M tires. That means the are good up to around 81 MPH for sustained use. That may get you by in a stock LS/LT at the track, but it is cutting it close in my opinion. I would at least a P speed-rated tire. The OP is going to trap above 105 MPH so I think a U or H rated tire is what he needs to be safe (with plenty of room to add power later). Finding one that is 5" or less in width that will fit a wheel that clears the brakes will be hard. So, a true frontrunner will probably be his only solution.

I agree with all the above, go with the real rim & tire for the combination so you will be safe to yourself and others around you. If you go with a Weld Racing RT-S71 front rim you are looking about $870 on the front rims, then the M&H skinnies are about $380 for the pair...
For cost you could go with a factory 18" rim, and have it cut down by a CNC lathe guy for a few bucks more to fit the 4.5/5" skinnies. Then just add tires. However the Weld's do look good. If you come towards our area, I'd let you borrow my set for some track runs. |

He has a SC V6 keep in mind. You can also get an entire set of 1LTs for less than the cost of anything anyone has posted so far. Check the members classified section, entire sets are going for less than $400. |

I'm thinking I should have kept my 1LT wheels when I had them.... Lol oh well
Thanks Matt for that offer! But I highly doubt I'd be in Florida anytime soon haha

This guy is handing them away! Scoop those up and get two bs used 18 inch tires off ebay. Get the lightest you can find, 225 width should be perfect. Then you have two extras, which I'd actually consider buying... Lets do it? Edit: Hes not including lugs but I have two full extra OEM sets. I'll send them to you for free + shipping (lol). |

Problem is, the stock wheels with tires will weigh much more and have much higher rolling resistance than skinnies. The weight difference and rolling resistance difference between the stock tires and what he has now may not amount to much at the track.

One quick clarification
When y'all say to not use the spares. Are y'all referring to the rim or the tires? I just want the rim and I'll get he appropriate tires

I had a set of rear wheels widened at weldcraftwheels http://weldcraftwheels.com/index-2.html They also narrow wheels for front runners. If you had a set of stock front wheels that might be another option,if i remember right my rears where 285 a wheel to get widened,i have no idea what it would cost to have a set narrowed, and you would have to do your homework on how much you could take out of the wheels and get tires.
