Question Chrome wheels - IN or OUT

Are chrome wheels played out?

I'm asking because lately I've been seeing a lot of people with tight cars and trucks with custom painted wheels to match the car, matt black finished wheels, spun aluminum, etc...I was just wondering. I mean hell I even got my RS wheels painted a custom color almost matching the car but a tab bit brighter. (I'll post pics later today)

I do not care if they are in or out, but they are not for me!
I am not much of a chrome person.

Chrome will never be "out"

Mine will have stock wheels that are powdercoated. I am looking into some VS1's that will be chrome....

Funny- I just got back 30 minutes ago from my tire shop who installed my new factory GM chrome wheels (with brand new Pirelli factory tires) and I see this thread.
I saw these on camaro 5 early AM today, called the owner and by 5:00 PM they were on my car. Almost 200 miles round trip in my Impala through 3 states but its done. I think chrome looks fantastic and can't imagine removing any chrome from my SS. I know it's an age thing- younger members like black wheels (yuck) and us older guys like chrome. I now have my extra polished wheels for my Continental winter tires plus an extra set of factory tires....Ain't life grand.

I was actually thinking about getting a set of old school chrome cragars (except they were 18"). But then I found they were only about 1.5 lbs less than my stock wheels.

I saw a pic of the cragars on a gen 5 and thought they looked good. But if I'm gonna spend money on new wheels, I want a set that weigh no more than 25 lbs each.
