Help Needed - Suggestions Welcomed
Hello All-
I'm new to this forum, but I must say, I love how helpful everyone seems to be, with courtesy and lots of passion for our beloved Camaros. I recently ordered my 2SS IBM (cool acronym I learned from you guys) and won't be getting it for 2 - 3 months. However, I've become obsessed with looking at modifications to make, enough where my girlfriend feels that I officially love my undelivered (unmade) vehicle more than her. I told her it's nothing personal...it's just business. I would like to receive suggestions from you on the "theme" (color combination) of my car, and also recommendations for my initial mods. Suggestions? Which theme is better: 1) IBM with black stripes or dark grey stripes (both will be aftermarket)? The importance of this is that my rims and other aspects of the car will match whichever color I choose for the stripes . I wish I can use photoshop to actually see the Grey stripes on the car, since black stripe pictures on IBM are available out there. Recommendations? 1) Best non cat-back exhaust (deep sound and power)? 2) Best intake (power and aesthetics)? 3) Which ground effects kit (if any at all)? 4) Lowering springs (Is Eibach good or is just a brand-name thing)? 5) Throttle Body (Worth changing)? Your suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. BTW, if anyone has time, can someone explain to me the advantages of cat-back over non cat-back, or vice versa? See you all in Phoenix in two months! |

Thanks for the suggestion and the picture! I was thinking even a darker grey than that...kindda like the Cyber Grey metallic. Grey was my original choice until I started getting positive feedback for the black.

ArmoSS, the question you have ask is somewhat of a personal taste thing, as far as color goes, however, since you are going with aftermarket stripes....whichever color you get, get them GLOSSY. and if its possible, have them PAINTED ON. oh and BTW, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

I agree with SirNuke - find the stripes you like best, check some of these out:

I think that dark grey stripes would be better than black. Also agree with Sir Nuke: glossy stripes, because if you get the clear bra, any portion of the stripes covered with the clear bra will appear glossy and not match the rest.

I like gray or silver over black. The car will be dark and black won't show up as well.

Borla Axle back exhaust & Cold Air inductions intake were my choices after doing a lot of research on C5. But you should research for yourself & get what you like. Apex Chase (C5 member) got me a good deal & helped me understand things (I am a total newby to all this). Chase will be doing a video of my exhaust as a part of a project of his to get better videos of a wide range of exhaust systems. I will be getting it installed in about a week. Not sure when I can get it up to Chase to video. Good luck & enjoy doing your mods. Read about oil catch cans on C5 too!

@heRS...love that site, I'm going to keep that in mind @ RubyCamaro...I was thinking of going with the Borla and CAI as well...we're on the same page. Thanks for the feedback, and good luck with those videos. |
