Black out bowties - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ive seen several cars around here with the gold on the bowties tinted or spray painted and I want this done to my black 2SS, can anyone recommend where I can have this done. Kid at my dealership does great work but wants me to take them off of the car. Just want them done neatly.

I did mine red with vinyl decals off of ebay for about $10. It took twenty minutes and looks good. You can get what ever color you want and if you get tired of it, peel it off.

they have vinyl, replacment inserts, and you can guy them repainted

Give Big Worm in Fort WOrth a shout they did mine..Took them all of about 15 min. Had them about 1 year now with no issues. They did a great job and I would use them again....Think less than 30 bucks for both installed

honestly i went to a vinyl shop, told them i wanted shiny black vinyl, they cut a piece larger than i needed, said i could give them whatever i felt like paying for it, i had $3 in ones on me so i gave them that, and i walked out the door.

i did both of my friend's bowties and had a lot left over to play around with (still have some) including putting stripes on my 1/18 scale model camaro and a couple other non-camaro-related projects just for fun

it can be done really cheaply with vinyl and it's not hard to cut it to shape yourself. just use a razor (i used an x-acto knife) to cut it to shape after you smooth it over the gold section and be careful.

i didn't even charge my friend to do it for him cuz he over-paid me for painting his tailight bezels haha

I guess all about ease.....Why worry when someone else can put on that has done many times. I have seen many try and difficult getting smooth exp around certain areas of the bow tie.
