How many miles driven with top down?

Would anyone consider driving coast to coast with only the top down?...I think I may do it with the wife only to make sure the big catcher stays shut for a good period of time..just joking..but would anyone consider a long trip with someone at highway speeds?

Wife and I drove from Woodhaven Mi. Through Indianapolis, Louisville, Bowling Green, Nashville, then home to Johnson City in two days and about 600 miles with the top down.
Wished we could have kept going...
Right now we have about 31,000 miles on it and I guess about 29,000 to 30,000 of them have been top down.

5 month stretch with the top down and it only left a few wrinkles. Put the top up for a while and all is well now.

Our 5-year old top still looks like brand new, at this rate we expect it to be that way in 10 years too.

8,950 miles so far, probably about 6,500 with the top down.

This brings up an interesting question I was thinking about. The other day I was watching Chasing Classic Cars and they talked about vert tops lasting longer if they were kept down.

What do you guys think?

I drove from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Colorado Springs (10 hrs-690 miles) with the top down the whole way. We got there a little sunburnt but otherwise just fine.

I have 98,000 miles on mine and most of those miles are with the top down.

Just turned 28,000 on my 2012 yesterday. Almost all of them have been top and windows down. I didn't buy a convertible to drive it with the top up. Although I only drive it from May 1st through November 1st. Minnesota is to brutal to drive it any other months.

7,900 miles currently on odometer. Approx. 7,500 miles with top down.

I'd also have no problem driving coast to coast with the top down.

We just did a 200+ mile top-down trip to Williamsburg, VA and back over the Memorial Day weekend and it was great! We're getting ready to do it again and an 850 mile roundtrip to Myrtle Beach, SC next month.

My GF, on the other hand, doesn't like the 'vert. She doesn't know how to drive a manual transmission, doesn't want to learn and finds that it doesn't have enough room to fit everything she thinks we need to bring along - in addition to finding that it's too noisy and too hot. Whereupon I responded "I didn't buy a $37k convertible so it can sit in the carport during the summer. We're taking the convertible. End of story." (of course I was very nice about it).
