i am glad this discussion came up. i have a 4yr old and a 2yr old and was wondering if the camaro would still be an option for me. we have a minivan for the regular trips. the camaro would be my daily driver to drop off one of the kids to school...

It's possible. Not exactly ideal, but rear facing can fit. I had a baby seat with a detachable base and it did fit. But now with the foward facing seat, it's so much easier.

Mine is a DD with an 8 and 4 year old at home. No problems at all. My 8 year old is a big kid for his age, no seat needed for him, but the seat for my 4 year old fits fine and she has plenty of room.

btw - the kids ONLY want to go in daddy's car cause mommy's car "is so boring"

Hmm a car seat in a Camaro. Scary. (the part where in that would mean I had a kid)

I have an almost 3yo, but since she is 38" tall and 42lbs, I have no issues, what-so-ever, fitting her in a booster seat.

BTW, the Camaro has advanced air bags, and not even my 9yo in the front seat is heavy enough to turn them on. I've been riding with all my kids in the shotgun position.

Congrats on the baby and do yourself and your seats a favor and get yourself a nice black towel to put on the seat before you put that seat in that will protect your seat from getting messed up.

The problem with just about any car is not that you can't fit a car seat in, it's when they outgrow the car seat and their legs get just long enough for them to press the soles of their shoes into the back of the front seats and push and kick!

Anyone know to that which I refer?

Congrats on the baby! My little girl is almost 3 now. We found out we were having her just 1 month after I bought a 96 Corvette! Luckily, it wasn't to be either of our main cars.

My Camaro is my daily driver and in the 6+ months I've had, my daughter has not yet needed to ride in it. My wife's car is the kiddie-mobile and I have used my old Explorer in a pinch. But not the Camaro.

YES! A nice thick black towel to minimize the indentations. I also was tipped off to a seat cover / liner for under the car seat. It goes a bit up the vertical part of the seat, it covers the sitting part, and it hangs down a bit. That lowest part has some mesh pockets to hold kid stuff in it. I got it for $15 at K-mart. I can't remember if it was Graco or something else.

My sister-in-law also has a cover of sorts that hangs on the back of the forward seat to protect the seat back from the kids' feet. I still have to ask her where she got that...
