What Spark Plugs to Use?

I'm somewhat new to the DI motors and would like to know what spark plugs you guys are running? Stock or aftermarket and what gap?

I have a NA motor with long tubes running the stock plugs/wires and I'm going to pull them and install new plugs and wires to help trouble shoot some fuel trim issues.

Stock plugs are fine for your application.

Agree with King on the stock plugs.

Regarding the fuel trims, was the car tuned after installing the headers? Exhaust leaks seem to be a surprisingly prevalent problem for a lot of aftermarket header & exhaust installs these days, so I’d be double checking to make sure that isn’t the case.

It’s been tuned. Runs great on maf and map tune then in closed loop it gets funky. Exhaust has been checked for leaks and now I’m more leaning towards a bad o2 or plugs and wires. I have ultimate headers and the DS flange had to be resurfaced, not the best headers I’ve seen.

It’s mostly an issue at idle, everything else if good.

If it's mainly idle then it definitely sounds like un-metered air getting in somewhere.

I had an o2 code for slow switching on bank 2 sensor 1 and it makes me think it could be related. The car can have all LT fuel trims within 2% then the next time I drive it it’s all over the place 4-8% and higher at times even. Could be a combination of a leak and or faulty sensor? I’ll check for leaks again and pull the plugs this afternoon.

Plugs all look fine. Ohm tested the wires and they are fine. The PS header flange looks like it’s not sitting great on the head, #6 port looks to bowed out just a hair visibly vs the other 3. Might have a resurfacing needed in the near future like the DS header. I spoke to the header manufacturer and he suggested swapping out the o2 sensor first to see if it helps, if not pull the header and check it.

Stock plugs are best. Anything else is just gimmick really.

Seems crazy you would need to have your headers resurfaced. Definitely keep in contact with the OEM on that one. However, definitely make sure all your wiring is far away enough from your exhaust and headers. Make sure nothing is melted. It sounds like you don't have a good seal somewhere though. Verify your air intake clamps are tight and everything is sealed up. With everything you've said though, your headers sound like a good candidate for source of the problem.
