Is the Camaro Killing the Corvette?
I was wondering how well the Corvette was doing. I mean I can't understand why you would buy a corvette for $70K when you can get a Camaro with the exact same powerplant for $36K. Is there some appeal I am not aware of here? Seems to me like the Camaro is slowly killing the vette.
Anyone know how vette sales are doing?

Corvette is invincible. Different class of car, for a different class of consumer. If anything is killing Vette's sales, it's the economy...

The LS3 Corvette is not $70k. Its much more attainable than that. If I had zero need for back seats, and a little bit more fundage, I would've gone the 'vette route. My brother is buying a C6 sometime next year instead of the Camaro (ya know.. sibling rivalry)

I bought a '09 Z-51 for the wife brand new for 48k and the sticker was 57k
we have both and there is nothing like the corvette. that car is unreal, most likely cause its all plastic and composites(super light).my 2SS goes pretty good but i'm putting long tubes, cam,CAI,and a tune and we will see if i can catch her |

Yeah but even with the goodies its still twice as much and has the same engine, thats my real point. Doesn't sound like to me the goodies are that much worth it. My 2SS has awesome breaks and even though it doesnt have the HUD its still better in my eyes. Even if I had the money I would still get the Camaro. The vette looks tired to me. I don't like the headlights either. I think the C7 is overdue.
