I think the headers might make it worse. A magnaflow resonated x-pipe should really help, but will mellow your sound too. Kind of a catch 22. I don't have headers yet so I yeild to anyone who has em and can tell you there experience.

The sound is deeper all around, but the rasp might be more present. It's hard to say bc some people consider rasp to be different things. I like the rasp, myself. But with DTs you will see a deeper and louder sound all around.

Sounds good Trevor, amazing how this combo sounds compared to others, very v8 like. You will see my sig has changed. MRT V2's went on today and man are they loud! and I have the resonated x pipe to boot! Drove around a bit then back to Greg's and he put back in the stock resonators to kill some drone, which it did.I'm sure as they season they will mellow a bit and get deeper sounding. The setup is killer and the growl sounds just like the op's. When you hammer it is much better then the magnaflows, but more in cabin drone or loudness then before. Oh well. Sounds sort of like an old v8 with a flowmaster and has the low rpm in town growl I was missing.

For all wondering shorties will not give you rasp, that is the total lack of resonators of any kind. Shorties give more growl and make it deeper sounding, even can quiet the sound a bit depending on the combo. Without the resonators I thought I had an MRT V1 on the car! I do like it with the x pipe and resonators better with my combo as it sounds deep and powerful and not overly loud. Idle is louder also.

Remember all as the exhaust componants get miles on them they will change the sound and get deeper and louder so take that into acount.

The weird thing about the v6s is that sometimes I think they sound good and sometimes i think they sound rice. Exactly the case in your vids, the first one = rice, the drive by sounds good.

Since you have an SS it probably wouldn't interest you, but have you seen the V6 exhaust sticky thread? With so many choices of course your going to have some you like and some you don't. Some of the ones with Shorties and especially several of the LT examples sound pretty mean...some have a high pitched growl and a few others have a lower rumble.

The dynos are out there, just gotta search! lol...both seem to add nice oomph down low, but the LTs ended up making a good amount more power in the upper RPMs.

BBK will undoubetedly give you 5-15 extra hp over the DT's from all the research that I've come accross. I'm installing mine tomorrow and doing dyno runs, I'll post #'s.
