looks good i was going to do the same thing when i get my car i was going to use the resevoir off of a c6 vet since i have a friend that has vett parts out the wazoo (he sells vet parts and rebuilds wrecked/burnt vetts)

We looked at C6 and G8 put the problem with them is that you can not buy the reservoir by its self only with the Clutch master cylinder.

So after doing this to my car i test drove it to Las Vegas and back home that was 260 Mi and no more leak on top of the Brake Fluid reservoir so i think that i fixed it.

Bump. Any more info on a fix for the reservoir/cap itself?? I'm sure there are others like me that just want the problem fixed instead of having to install a 2nd reservoir. It sounds like replacing the OE cap with another OE cap doesn't work either. :(

My second cap is leaking too and I have the manual tranny... does anyone with the A6 have the leaking reservoir problem?

Here is the way i see this, When GM mixed the reservoir's what they for got is that on the clutch side we move the pedal faster then the brake's side, that makes the fluid return faster then the brake fluid, With them using a cap made for a brake reservoir that is made to be open to the air that is why it leak's, the clutch reservoir is a thread on cap so its made to keep Fluid in.

The automobile is over 100 years old. I dont understand how simple things like this get overlooked

Its to save $ that is all, Buy now they saved 1M or more on this 1 part.

Not so sure if they're constantly replacing caps and reservoirs under warranty...
