How are the US sales of Buick doing? Is this still a US old folks car and asian hot rod?

I was just wondering if these new designs are doing anything to turn around the US consumer's minds on Buick.

If Buick wants to move upscale, it's got to lose the model names. There's a reason why Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes and Audi all use letters and numbers for model names - it brings the focus to the brand rather than the model.

"Verano" sounds cheap.

Buick has been the fastest growing automotive brand in the US for 2010. LaCrosse easily outsold the ES350, Enclave has always been a success, and Regal sales are starting to pick up with more improvements on the way when production starts at Oshawa this year.

They sold over 155,000 vehicles in 2010. Up from 102,000 in 2009. They are doing very well. I like this car. The interior looks great. I really like he way Buick is heading.

That's good to hear. This new car looks like it should be a winner too.
Those seats look like a lazyboy.

Any plans to bring back the 455? LOL

It's quite extensive to do a copy/paste....but there's some interesting stuff in there, list standard forged 17" aluminum wheels to reduce road noise and hydraulic chassis bushings, electronic E-brake, sound-dampening foam-filled frame cavities, and 177hp/31 hwy mpg....

wow.

EDIT: AND it features the company's 'next gen radio system' which includes a suite of Ford Sync-like features including voice-recognition!
Am I the only one that thinks that sounds like a bad idea?

Anyway, that definitely is a sharp looking little thing, nice to see GM keep churning out some quality products

GM's been doing electronic E-brakes for some time now.

Looks great!

And the electronic e-brake had me a bit nervous too. Our CTS-V (manual) has it and I am a bit paranoid about it, but it is better that the foot e-brake I have on my regular CTS. Hated it at first, but it's growing on me.

How does that work, is it an actual lever or a button or something? Just wondering, when I hear 'electronic e-brake' I think of the electronic brakes that some planes have; it's either on or off, can't really adjust how much brake is applied.

Actualy that don't make any sense, considering when 2012 Focus base engine makes more power and more fuel economy. The Cruze really needs a 2.0T or something more powerful than whats available.

On Topic: I love the Interior. Whats the difference between this and the Cruze?? someone said its really and astra?

This is based on the Opel Astra which is sold in Europe and China (as the Buick Excelle).

It's a small "switch" located near the shifter that is about the size of a window switch and works in a similar fashion. And, no it's either on or off no way to adjust.
