WANTED-1997 30th Anniversary Chevy Camaro Z28

Hey guys, I'm obviously new to the forums. My mom and I are looking at buying a 97 Z/28 Camaro. We were looking at the new Camaros but they are way out of are price range for the V8. She had a '79 up until 1992 but she sold it to a friend when I came into the picture. We live in Tallmadge OH (home of Summit racing and some of the nicest street cars on the planet due to that). I was just at the Camaro show last weekend where we test drove one of the V6s and we feel in love (I had honestly been in love since Transformers 1 anyway). So we walked around a bit and spotted a 97 30th Anniversary Camaro. We decided that was our car. I get to blow away an a$$hole prep at school in his 3000GT and my mom gets to have her dream car back. The only bad part is A. hard to find with less that 100,000 miles (I'm only an amateur mechanic) B. She can't drive stick. So here are the specs and hope fully I can find one in Eastern Ohio/Western PA. Any help would be awesome.

WANTED-1997 30th Anniversary Chevy Camaro Z28**

Must have white with orange stripe paint scheme

No convertibles

Less than 75,000 miles

EXCELLENT condition

Non-smoker

Winter stored (absolutely no salt damage)

Not a spot of rust on the body

Auto or manual (PLEASE Auto)

Obviously V8***

Minor engine work needed only

T-tops more than exceptable

Preferably leather interior

Don't ever call me.

**No trades, price with be negotiated based on KBB quotes
***I may except V6 model or normal non-Z28 SS models based on condition

I've only ever seen a few, and not all of them in even decent condition... It's a shame how many people will just let their cars go :( Keep us posted tho, if you get your hands on one, we'll def want some pictures!

Yeah, it is a shame. Unfortunately the best one I've found sold the day I went to see it. It had 50k miles and had been winter stored. Looked beautiful. Some collector in Florida bought it.

Thumbs up

I have the EXACT opposite that you are looking for!! lol
'99 Hugger Orange, white leather, all options, except traction control, 12 disk Monsoon stereo system, t-tops, completely stock, except for new AC DELCO battery. Only 14,717 miles on the clock and NEVER driven in rain, snow or wet pavement. ALWAYS garaged.
Have you tried looking over at ls1tech.com? Tons of 4th gens for sale over there. GOOD LUCK.
(Did you say that you are willing to pay KBB value of the car? Does that depend on the condition of the car? You may have a very hard time trying to persuade some the KBB value on a car like that, especially if it's in good/excellent condition.)

What is it with Florida and Camaros? Seems like a cesspool of sweet F-bodies down there. Sucks they had to snatch that out from under ya...

Well I figure it was a collector (which wouldn't bother me too much cause I know it's going to a good home). I think it's a mix of the weather and the massive amounts of old people with money.

What would REALLY tick me off is if it is some rich dad buying a car for a spoiled little boy. THAT would be my worst nightmare. (A kid at my school JUST got a 93-99 Camaro and it looked fine before he got it, now it is all beat to hell. Thank god it's only a V6).

That does happen... I'll admit, while I didn't abuse my first Camaro, it definitely didn't get the care it deserved... But I bought it myself, and definitely have never been spoiled (no 5th gen for awhile, I'm afraid) lol
