Question about Street Scene Lower Grille Ducts

I was looking at ordering these and had some questions.

Once you pull the stock lower grille insert out of the fascia and install the grille ducts with the double-sided tape, then what?

Obviously you can't reinstall the stock lower grille insert. Are we supposed to trim the heck out of it, or does the billet grille overlay take its place?

And if the billet grille overlay takes the place of the stock lower grille insert, then why is it called an overlay?

I like the look of the ducts, I'm just not sure what happens after they're installed. I managed to pull up the installation instructions, but after the step for installing the ducts, it simply says you're now ready to install the fascia back onto the vehicle in reverse order.

I'm confused...

hey whats up i actually have these gonna install tomorrow. if you but just the ducts you have to cut the stock grille to fit. if you buy the version like i did with a lower black billet insert . it comes shaped to fit between and screws to the tabs that held the factory lower. ill go outside and snap pics of my directions

Okay, so that black billet grille actually replaces the stock grille insert?

When the website I was looking at said overlay, and went into great detail about how overlay means it sits on top of the stock grille, I got really confused.
