Not hard at all. Just tilt the seat back and it glides right in.

According to whom exactly? I have never read they were lighter, not this model for the Camaro. In fact it has the same parts and MORE material added for lateral support.

Bad news: Recaro weighs 62.2lbs original seat weighs 56.4lbs, so I just added 11.6 lbs to my car...

I have to say. Now that I see them side by side.....I'm not sure I see the value for the money in upgrading. Anyone else see this??

It's all relative to how much money you have to spend

The Z/28 version is lighter because they're a manual adjustment.

I sat in them and would definitely get them if I got a 14 or 15, but that's too much money to add them after the fact.

It is the seat that should have been an option from 2013 on! I understand why some Camaro owners are changing them. They fit most owners bodies tighter than the stock seat that comes with the car. You can still ingress and egress out of the car. It does give the car a more aggressive look with them installed. It also adds a bit more lateral support than the stock seats. I use aftermarket fixed back seats since I love the turns and needed the extra lateral support neither the stock seat of the Recaro offer. I will admit for the price or the Recaros, I could buy two carbon fiber shelled race seats. We are all a bit different with our priorities when customizing our Camaros.

....or in my situation how much I want to spend. I just don't see it worth $4,700 based on that side by side pic.

Good point! I was leaning towards getting them then I saw the pic and the weight. Need to do the butt test.

Smile

I just left the dealership an hour ago and they had a z28, and 2 zl1's One of the zl1 had the recaros and I was able to try the recaros and go straight to the zl1 with the stock seat. The recaros fit you like a glove so to speak. The stock seats are not bad but don't wrap around you as much but the recaros look awesome. They are pricey but if you have the space keep the factory seats and if you ever sell the car you can always sell the recaros, and if not sell the factory seats to offset the cost.

I need to get motivated. My stock ZL1 seats are sitting on the floor in storage.
