where can i find a good set of black or flat black bow tie inserts at? ive been looking around and i dont want some $10 vinyl sticker and i dont want a $150 metal piece. so what else is there? does anyone have anything in between these prices,thats reasonable and looks good?

That $10 vinyl sticker will look just as good as the metal insert if you do it right. Plus it's reversible.

The mod itself is reversible..meaning you just peel off the vinyl and voila, back to stock if you want to. Lot easier than changing out those emblems if you decide you wanna go a different color down the road. And like I said, if you take your time and do it right it will look 98% the same as an insert.

I did mine in CF, just bought a sheet of CF vinyl and an exacto knife. Total cost was <$15 and I had enough CF to redo both bowties once already and do the side markers and I still have half the sheet left. I wouldn't pay for any of the precut emblems sponsors sell on here. They are a huge rip off IMO.

Best route in my mind, is to remove the factory gold insert and sand/paint with color of your choice. Inexpensive and easy while maintaining more of a "factory" appearance. If you go this route, make sure you get the emblem(s) good and hot to allow the double-sided tape to release the insert...

Yep its easy to DIY, buy the vinyl, get an exacto knife and a hair dryer....the bowties are excellent for it on the camaro too, there are videos on it, but I did mine...take a square that goes around the whole bowtie, stick it on, use your thumbnail to press it in to the crease around the edges, using the hair dryer to stretch out any creases or bubbles and cut and peel.

looked into those. its a complete replacement. i just need the insert. already had my chrome painted black. but need the bowtie done now.
