Heres the message us dealers received..

TO: All Chevrolet, Buick and GMC Dealers
Subject: Modifications to Chevrolet and GMC Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage and Included Maintenance Programs for Chevrolet, Buick and GMC for 2016 Model Year Vehicles.

Through research, we have determined that when purchasing a new vehicle, included maintenance and warranty rank low on the list of reasons why consumers consider a particular brand over another. As a result, we have benchmarked our competitors, reviewed our current offerings and have concluded the following modifications to align closely with our customers’ needs and expectations.

Warranty Update
For 2016 model year vehicles, in addition to the 3 years/36,000 miles (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper warranty, all Chevrolet and GMC vehicles will come with a Powertrain Limited Warranty featuring a total of 5 years/60,000 miles (whichever comes first) of powertrain coverage. Coverage includes the engine, transmission/transaxle, transfer case, drive systems and emission control systems and in addition courtesy transportation and roadside assistance is covered for 5 years/60,000 miles (whichever comes first). The previous Limited Warranty on these vehicles was 5 years/100,000 miles. Buick remains at 6 years/70,000 miles Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage.

Scheduled Maintenance Update
Additionally, the current 2 years/24,000 miles Chevrolet Complete Care, GMC Pro Grade Protection, and Experience Buick Protection Scheduled Maintenance Programs will remain in effect for most 2016 Chevrolet, Buick and GMC model year vehicles. The number of service events will be modified from four service events within 2 years/24,000 miles to a maximum of two service events within 2 years/24,000 miles (whichever comes first).
Previous model year vehicles (i.e. 2014/2015) that were sold or are currently in stock with 5 years/100,000 miles warranties and 2 years/24,000 miles Chevrolet Complete Care, GMC Pro Grade Protection, and Experience Buick Protection (maximum of four service visits) are NOT affected by these modifications. Their warranty/coverage will remain in effect.
