Bought the SS

Well after going back and forth on whether or not to sell the 04 Cobra, I made the move yesterday. Picked up a new 10 1SS manual, silver with silver rally stripes, 4 gauge package upgrade, gm perf exhaust, 20 wheels, and premium mats for $27k after the GM employee discount and other rebates.

Took 4 hours to get home after the purchase and I really like this car, it drives great, is comfortable, pretty quick especially in 1st and 2nd gears. I sure wish it had the power of the Cobra though.

Looking forward to beginning modifications.

Drive her around some more she will wake up after she gets some more miles on her. And headers and an intake will wake her up a lot too.

Headers/Tune/Exhaust make a big difference in the car. A few rear bushings, trailing arms, and a good set of tires and you'll be in the lower 12's at the track.

As a recommendation.....do a bunch of research on what you're going to buy before actually buying. Probably no different than in the Mustang world.

Oh.....and you need to post up some pics. No matter even if it's stock right now.

I'll try to post some pics of the silver on silver, the differance in color tones are minimal so I am not sure it will show up in a picture but I'll try. My goal was to have stripes but not "in your face stripes" Hopefully the rain stops at some point and I can grab the Camera

congrats! You'll have a ton of fun and hanging out here will surely help lighten your wallet. My advise is, before doing any performance mods that "may" void the warranty, drive the car awhile and take care of the problems that arise (if any) under warranty. That is what I am doing with the 2011 GT500 SVTPP I just picked up. But it is soooooo hard not to do a simple pulley swap and tune now for an easy 600rwhp.

Question,
Will Chevy void the warranty for a CAI, Programmer, Exhaust?

Cat-back exhaust, no prob. With headers...depends on the dealer.

CAI, mostly no prob. Depends on the dealer.

Programmer/Tune = will definitely VOID your power train warranty.
