Do you know what a 1000hp Super Snake and 1000hp Supra have in common? They both run 11s. The SuperSnakes are over priced for what they are in my opinion.

Super Snakes have been around for a while. Nothing new.....although I believe this is the first wide-body Super Snake.
Super Snakes are not factory Ford cars too. They are aftermarket packages built by Shelby American. Hennessey and other companies make Camaro packages that are similar to the Super Snakes.

Actually found the Focus part of the article more interesting. Strange that they're not doing any engine modds. Shelby will build anything you want if you have enough money. The last time I was there (early 2010), they were building a "Shelby F150" for an F150 owner. I think the truck was a 2007. They said they couldn't do the newer trucks yet, because they were having trouble getting into the ECU codes.

850 hp package is $39,995.00 dam. What the hell are they doing to the car to justify another 40k on top of the 63k for the car? I think a tune, pulley, exhaust, will get you over 700 rwhp on a 13 at maybe a cost 2k.

Paying for the name is part of it. I think they give you a decent warranty on the 850 hp kit. The 1000hp is no warranty, if I recall correctly. plus theres all the badges and stuff.

paying for the name, and a warranty, and "limited" run. IIRC they only build so many a year to keep them "exclusive"
