Just hit the button once and take traction control off. Hold the brake just enought to stop the car from moving. Slowly press the accelerator, the rear tires will start to spin, after a few seconds let off the the brake and floor the accelerator and hang on. I have smoked the tires for at least 100 feet, and only let off because the back end started to come around. It takes a little practice, but you should get the hang of it.

Thats what I've always done in my 2010, get them to spin and let off as I floor it But I am going to try that 8 second method

Did some testing last night on regular concrete. If I just hit the button once it wont spin from a stop without a bit of brake stand. It feels like something is limiting the power. Possibly the stabilitrak kicking in due to slight side to side movement.

If I hold the button down till both go off it will light them up from a stop without using the brakes first. Both cases in S mode but not manual mode.

It does get sideways very easily. I dont know if its the road or just the way the car works but it loves to fishtail.
