IOS 7.1 changes the way maps works over bluetooth

On the update for my 2012 if listening tio xm/radio/cd player it will call the car with directions. Before, you needed to be listening to your iphone. Google maps previously did this but it doesn't interact with siri.

The directions given through Apple Maps will come through your cars audio (as long as it's connected to bluetooth) even if you're listening to XM or FM and not "Bluetooth Audio."

I had my iPhone plugged into the USB port to charge it and it Google Maps interacted seamlessly with the stereo. It wasn't "phoning" the car to give directions. It just muted the music and came right through. I have had it "phone" the car in the past to give directions, but this was different.
