2015 3.6L VVT V6 mod option help

Morning everyone. Looking for some advice / direction. The '15's VVT puts out 323 at the crank and I want to boost that up a bit more with out dropping thousands on forced induction. I've already installed CAI's cold air intake and Borla's axel back Attack SS exhaust. On paper (have not dyno'd) that's about 343 and putting down the track 14.523 sec @ 96.735mph. I've been reading a few very old posts about tuners for the '12 but nothing on the newer. The plug and play options I've found very greatly between +10 - +30hp which sounds suspicious. Untilately id like to get it up to about 360hp.... thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Even the highest dynoing pump gas tuned full bolt-on V6s are only putting down 345~ at the crank.
This is correct. Only way to get to 360ish horsepower is full bolt ons, e85 & a tune

If you're getting ~280 HP at the wheels with intake/exhaust/tune (no E85) wouldn't you already be at ~360 HP? A typical auto LFX gets ~250 HP to the wheels which is a ~22% power loss (250/323), so assuming the same losses 280 HP at the wheels = ~360 HP at the crank, or do the bolt-ons and tune actually reduce losses? If you'd in fact be getting less than 360 HP then I'm still telling everyone I'm getting 360 because that equates to 100/liter which is a nice, round number

Updated mods....

Cold Air Intake (Aero Dynamics)
VMAX CNC Ported throttle body
Helix Throttle Body Spacer
JacFab Air Intake Manifold Spacer
Jet Perfomance Stage 2 Module
Jet Performance Mass Air Flow
SLP Loudmouth Axle Back 1
Elite Oil Catch Can
Struts/shocks
Vitesse Throttle Controller
Air/Fuel Ratio Guage
Boost Gauge
Zex Nitrous (pending installation)

Now, Overkill has a tune that claims removal of speed restrictions. Also claims gains of 15-30HP on 91 octane. Has anyone used this tune before?

Lots of people have the Overkill tune. You can also get the E-85 conversion with the Overkill tune . The tune with the E-85 option will take you to around 300 rwhp or slightly over. Overkill gives you free retunes as your mods change for as long as you own your car.

Thanks Kenny. Thats exactly what the site mentions. 91 Octane with an overkill tune is not as good as E85 with the tune?

does anyone have hard data on it? Just curious.

I don't think you will find anyone more dedicated to improving the performance of the LFX and LLT engine. Will at Overkill is great to work with and his product has been proved that. I've had the Overkill tune, 80mm tb and e85 upgrade for close to a year now and it's combination is awesome. I'm putting together a supercharger kit and Will has helped with that as well. I don't think there is any other tune out there that can beat Wills, even dyno tunes are only equal to it at best.

Yes, that's correct. I don't have the hard data on hand, but I can relay a representative account of the results. Different levels of modification will bring different end results. These numbers are just kind of an average of results I've seen over the last six months or so of reports with the Overkill tune with Overkill products. These results reflect nearly a full bolt on modification with the Overkill tune. Automatic trans with 91 octane, 280 to 285 rear wheel horsepower. Auto with E-85, 302 rear wheel horsepower. Manual transmission on 91 octane, 289 to 294 rear wheel horsepower. Manual on E-85, 316 rear wheel horsepower. Remember that all dyno's are different and weather conditions effect the results they obtain. The E-85 numbers are the highest numbers I've seen in normally aspirated LFX reports.

That's the highest stock rating I've seen, very impressive. Most are lower. What have you been seeing, DJ? What was you highest n/a dyno run Sycraft?

Wasn't that a third gear pull? That's what DJ's spread sheet says, third gear pull. They usually read a bit higher than a fourth gear pull, don't they?

Happy New Years everyone!

Average on an auto stock is around 255, Manual has less data but should be around 270. Sycraft is an outlier haha

323*0.15 = 48.45
323-49 = 274

323*0.20 = 64.6
323-65 = 258

So the data supports the rough calculations.
