Are you accepting GM discounts?

It's all about supply and demand. The only cars we don't discount are the Camaro's and the ZR-1 Corvette. I'm sure once the Camaro's are out for a while dealers will allow GM discounts. But until then we only charge MSRP.

With all due respect, I feel that it's funny that MSRP would be touted like its a gift when GM is offering all available discounts on the Camaro. This of course is regarless of supply and demand. Last time I checked demand was down across the board,,, including the Camaro. 11K preorders isnt high demand when they were expecting 20K.
This is a buyers market, not a sellers market.

I'm with ya on it's a buyers market. But we have plenty of demand for the vehicle. I think a lot of people want to see the car before they make a move, but honestly how many do you think they are gonna build? With the slowdown in the economy do you really think they are going to over produce it? Allocation is based on Corvette sales and if you go across the country only big dealers are going to be getting more than one or two. We on the other hand will have more than enough and won't have any problem selling them at MSRP. If GM offers incentives than of course you get them but they aren't going to be offering them any time soon. Hope this helps you.

Thanks to the internet buyers are armed with more information when looking to purchase a new vehicle. Additionally we have the ability to use forums like this to advise other perspective buyers of the good/bad/ugly of certain dealers. The greedy Ford dealers sat on the GT500 cars trying to gouge buyers for $20,000 over MSRP, and now their (still) new 2007 GT500 Mustangs are starting to show up on EBay for MSRP and less. When will greedy dealers ever learn?
With this in mind...thank you Camaro Scotty for all of your words of wisdom. If you were closer I'd be dealing with you in a heartbeat. After watching the way Dodge dealers ripped off consumers for over MSRP pricing on the Challenger and seeing the prices tank so quickly I am starting to think that the same thing could happen with the Camaro. The economy is in much worse shape now than when the Challenger came out. I'll keep an open mind, but if August rolls around and my 2SS is not in my garage yet it does'nt make much difference to wait another 9 months to get one since it would have been in storage most of that time anyway. I'll consider cancelling at that point and waiting for additional options and employee pricing.

All the dealers were told in all 4 IDL's over the last 6 months of the formula used in the early order guide number...mostly based on how many Mustangs are licensed in your area, then chevy sales (not vette specific.)
But yes, they will sell - and it's nice to see a dealer in California at least OFFERING MSRP. Welcome! |

Ha, ya your right about that. Bummer, I keep up on all of our training here but haven't seen any IDL's on it. I appreciate the information you have and hope this will be the one of the cars to get GM back on track. There was speculation that we were going to mark them up but decided against it with the way the economy is. Plus it will be an easy sale at that price as well. Have you had a lot of response (orders) using the forum? It seems like a great place to find Camaro customers. Anyways, good luck this year. Thanks
