a6 to ss diff swap questions

I read where a person used a different coupler rather than back half of an ss driveshaft.

Does the coupler from an ss swap onto the a6 shaft?

Are there differences in the 1le to ss diff?

Other than the following is there anything else required to perform the swap?
diff
axles
hub bearing
coupler or driveshaft from my or ss.

Thanks

Rich

You have the parts that are needed listed. I've been there done that so you are good. The 1LE diff (complete) would have 3.91 gears in it and you may want to do the the 3 diff bushings while doing the swap. I used the back half of a SS driveshaft on my front half when I did the swap.

Thanks bud. I hope to have all the parts by next weekend. Who do you recommend for the diff bushings?

What are your thoughts on the cradle bushings?

I am getting ready to do the swap this weekend. I swapped in energy suspension diff bushings.

Do I need to separate the back half of shaft at the U joint? Or do I just need the coupler between the driveshaft and the diff?

thanks

YES cradle bushings while you are there or at least the inserts. I run BMR but there are other brands I see folks using that seem to have good results too.

Separate where the center bearing is. Note, mark, draw a line whatever you need to clock the position of the shaft when you separate them, to put them back in the same location when you slide back together.
