I was thinking about this... however I've been doubting their abilities/willingness to do anything without me shelling out $$. I will see what they can do though when the 2014s finally get there.

lol.. I get them too every now and then.. but its usually 1 or 2 small ones that I see once and then they disappear.

Yep. When I was in NY this problem was unheard of. Down here I've asked some people and they give me these .. that or recommend raid or bombing.. seems fairly common though.. most of the time they tell me they've had the same issue. I sure hope I never have a wasp problem.. hate things with stingers.

glue? I've tried the liquid ones that are supposed to attract them all with a delayed poison that will wipe everyone out. the videos on youtube looked promising, but didn't work for me.. so many different ant species and different baits to use its sucks.

I tried this in my accord and there were still ants crawling around.. my theory is that when the fumes spread to leak outside it dilutes and isnt enough to kill the ones living in well ventilated crevices.

What Im leading to is I dont know what they may use as deadeners or if there is something they may of riddled similar to it, but its possible you have more than just the actual infestation that needs to be corrected.....take it by a dealer, as stated, any dealer will work, to look at it, if for nothing else, if you have problems further down the road you will have it on record as being a problem.

wow. thanks for pointing that out. i really hope that's not the case. i have heard of some ants being attracted to electrical housings and when there are enough of them they can mess things up real good there.. and now there's this.. really appreciate the advice

heh... yeah.. it wasn't until yesterday when i saw so many of them.. they say that ones roaming around are only 5%~10% of the whole colony.. so after seeing so many, i thought i'd be time to see if i could get rid of em.

when i used to visit florida i hated mosquitos. but i realize ants are actually the real pests... at home there are fire ants and these other small fast bright red little bastards.. good thing they stay outside though. cars safe in the garage

Terro...its made of borax ..like in the soap, and will not hurt animals if eaten yet does attract and kill ants in time....I have used it for decades.....just put some on a piece of cardboard by the car, and refill as necessary as it will harden if not depleted by lines of chowing ants.

This is the liquid bait that I had actually tried. After seeing reviews and watching the videos I was amazed and, excitedly, i tried it that night. Placed on lip spoiler, behind lip spoiler by wheel well, as well as the ant trails along the roof. I had given the car a bath to rid the exterior of bug residue that might possibly distract them from the terro. Was dismayed to find they were there untouched the next morning... I went so far as to grab some and place them on the bait so they could alert their buddies.. nothing.. I chalked it up to the reads online that said different bait for different ant types...

I will be bombing the garage this weekend!

No, not fire ants.... thank god. At home it is in a garage free of any ants. At work, where there are a lot of ants, I park it outside.. but I make sure to spray around to keep them out of the car.. but that just made me realize some may jump on board when it rains... damn florida weather..

When I had my firebird in Florida the same thing happened. Do not bug bomb or use raid, it wreaks havoc on your plastics. What actually solved it for me was cinnamon, I basically made a perimeter in the door sills, trunk, and even hood area. It messes with the ant's way of navigating, its like removing all of the signs from a hiking trail and they will stop coming back.

When I had this problem, there was no food in the car and it was detailed bi-weekly, I tried all of the raid and ant killing stuff but in the end the cinnamon solved my issue. Best of luck.

I had that problem last year, I bought these no pest strips, cut top out of package (so that strip is exposed, but won't touch carpet) and slide under drivers seat. That handles inside problems, for outside, cinnamon works about as well as sevin dust without chemicals. Just sprinkle on your driveway.

I've been having an ant problem at my house for a couple of weeks. Got rid of them really fast with AMDRO ant bait. Kills off the entire colony in a couple of hours. You can get it at home depot. ^^The problem is, if the colony isn't in the car itself which it most likely isn't, it has something to do with the chemicals in the carpets or something which draws the ants in, you most likely won't kill the colony, I'm dead serious about the cinnamon...
