There was NOTHING harsh in the Ops reply. Op simply pointed out the car is blown after your now awkward statement. Don't get all butthurt because you didn't know what a maggie is.

It's all up to you, but every time I see a car without a hood, it just makes me think it's a project still in progress and the owner just wanted to rush things so he could take his car out and drive it.

To me, a hood with a SC sticking up through it looks a heck of a lot more impressive than one without a hood.

Some people daily their cars. I might have to run without a hood for a few days.

Only reason I've ever done this is to save me the trouble taking off the hood multiple times when fixing something that's squeaking in the front end sheetmetal

And I felt like an idiot doing it. If I had a 1940 Ford or a T-bucket hotrod? Sure. A 1967 Chevelle? No.

I imagine I am as old or older than many on this forum. I went through great lengths to have a hood made to cover the high rise intake / carb / air cleaner on the 1969 because the no hood look is not for me, and never has been. I was even a bit uncomfortable about the big aero scoop on the hood we had made. To me the greatest cars are the ones that look very normal, don't make a ton of noise, and absolutely haul ass. OP, your car with the blower I am sure runs great. You do what you want, but if the car runs right, why draw the attention to yourself? Just get out there and whoop some ass! That will get you the attention you deserve!

OP, I used to do it in my '68 Chevelle, (many years ago) and it was a blast, I say why not!

I'm impressed that you did it by yourself. It was a little awkward flipping the hood and reinstalling if I was by myself. Agreed on installation time. 4 hrs at most and that was with a dremel tool so 2x the needed cutting.
This would be weird rolling around town like this.
