V6 vs V8 shifter?
Is there any diference in the shifter between a manual v6 and v8? I see some short shifters available, but none of them specify if it's for v6 or v8 so I was wondering if they were the same? Will the shifters work on both cars?

Well for one, the shift pattern is different. They are different transmissions. V8 reverse is over to the right and up, V6 is over to left and up. Buy the right shifter.

The hurst is for the V6 & V8 per there web site.
The mighty Camaro is BACK! This classic American Icon has been re-styled and re-engineered for a better, sleeker, and more powerful than EVER sports muscle car. And while new Camaros are just hitting the dealership floors, Hurst has already developed a new Billet/Plus 2 shifter for both the V6 and V8 applications. Simple to install with classic Hurst stick and round ball combination, this is the MUST HAVE companion to your new muscle car. Be the first on your block to own a new Chevrolet Camaro, and be the first on your block to drive that Camaro with a HURST SHIFTER in it! ■ 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, V6 and V8 ■ CNC machined stainless steel stick assembly ■ Nylon lined spherical pivot bearing ■ Shift throw reduced for quicker shifts ■ Smooth positive mechanism ■ Bolt on classic chrome plated stick and white knob ■ CNC machined stick adapter accepts Classic Hurst stick |

the Hurst unit will fit both the V8 and V6..The others currently will not as the "carrier" assembly's of the 2 shifters are different!

Hmm.. That sucks... I don't really want the hurst shifter... Any ideas if MGW or Ripshift is going to make a V6 version?

You owe it to yourself to look at the Barton. IMHO it is a better value and is as good or better than the rest. It is also compatibly to both V8 and V6 with no rattles or shakes. They are also coming out with a flat stick and a T-handle soon giving you many different looks and options.
